Vesper's fear and readability presentation passes
Vesper now has an authored title reveal, original borrowed-breath cue, violet and cyan atmosphere, phase camera and light escalation, subtle proxy motion and distinct combat pulses without changing attack truth. Thirty automated checks and eight reviewed packaged frames pass, including readable Audience of Eyes telegraphs from Low through Cinematic. Reset and death restore presentation state, placeholder visuals remain labeled, and a concise rehearsal brief preserves the intended cinematic beats without starting expensive production. Day 36 is unlocked for physical tuning, telemetry and director acceptance.
Vesper's bounded player-memory hooks pass
Vesper now uses only completed-attempt aggression and range preference to modestly favor Mask Rake or Stolen Gaze. One deterministic response is capped at eight selection points, reduced and off modes restore lower or canonical pressure, and changed behavior reduces the response. All twenty-four automated and rendered checks pass, the known-good build is sealed and verified on the playtest PC, and Day 35 is unlocked for fear and readability presentation.
Vesper's authored Attack Director passes
Vesper now chooses Mask Rake, Stolen Gaze and Audience of Eyes through inspectable spacing, cooldown, anti-repetition, followup and phase-pressure rules while preserving the accepted Honest Shadow loop. All twenty-three automated and rendered checks pass, the known-good build is sealed and hash-verified on the playtest PC, and Day 34 is unlocked for the two approved persistent adaptation hooks.
Vesper's Honest Shadow graybox accepted
The Creative Director confirmed that Revision 26 shows one Stolen Gaze sphere becoming one moving magenta orb with no duplicate cube. All twenty-two automated checks, rendered attack reviews, known-good sealing and hash-verified playtest-PC delivery pass. Day 33 is unlocked for Vesper's Attack Director and phase escalation.
Vesper defense loop and EXPOSED timer verified
Director video review showed that recovery alone could advance Exposure, unrelated delayed traces appeared and Vesper could die before Phase 2 was meaningfully tested. Revision 18 now requires a real shield, dodge or successful avoidance, removes the unrelated traces, lengthens the fight across multiple Honest Shadow cycles and adds a large above-boss EXPOSED countdown. All twenty checks pass and the hash-verified playtest build is ready for the focused director retest.
Vesper reset and danger language pass
The latest verified Vesper package separates the Mask Rake into three grounded claw lanes, fills Audience of Eyes with the shared red 35%-opacity danger language, and prevents encounter reset from activating Unreal's Shader Complexity view. Dedicated performance view keys remain available for developers. All twenty automated checks pass, including separate rendered reviews of both repaired attacks, and hash-verified gaming-PC delivery is complete for the focused director retest.
BossLab becomes a complete 3D UE5 developer workshop
The owner reference pages now drive a release gate for a developer-only BossLab inside the production UE5 project. It combines normal-language Boss Spec authoring and a visual fight timeline with fully 3D play, live tuning, reversible Production Art, Simplified 3D and Combat Truth views, deterministic replay, configuration promotion and packaged validation. Flat 2D gameplay is excluded, and player-facing releases cannot expose the workshop. Architecture is scheduled for Day 37, implementation for Days 43-46 and final enforcement for Days 57-59.
Vesper attack readability and reset repaired
Physical testing found that forced attacks changed state without enough visual distinction and encounter reset could leave combat volumes visible. The repaired Vesper build adds unique melee, projectile and red-floor hazard cues with plain-language labels, makes the real attacking body visually distinct, restores a clean reset, passes all nineteen automated checks and is hash-verified on the gaming PC. Day 33 remains locked pending the focused director retest.
Vesper's duplicate projectile cue removed
Revision 26 removes the generic framework cube that appeared beside Stolen Gaze's spherical windup cue. A dedicated packaged rendered review now enforces one sphere becoming one outward-traveling magenta orb. All twenty-two automated checks pass, hash-verified playtest-PC delivery reused forty-seven unchanged files, and Day 32 needs only this one physical repair confirmation.
Vesper presentation and integration candidate delivered
Revision 25 gives Stolen Gaze a clearly magenta outward-traveling orb, standardizes every boss title to a 0.75-second fade-in, two-second hold and one-second fade-out with the smoky backdrop dissolving midway through the hold, and proves Vesper's complete Boss Integration Contract. All twenty-one automated checks pass and hash-verified playtest delivery is complete; Day 32 now needs only a six-step director finish test.
Vesper reset and combat feedback repairs delivered
Revision 22 makes Stolen Gaze one outward-traveling orb, keeps developer defeat recovery in place, restarts encounter audio on reset, adds a two-second RESET marker, places phase beside the boss health bar and prevents concurrent red damage numbers from overlapping while offering a combined-total mode. All twenty automated checks pass and hash-verified playtest delivery is complete; Day 32 now needs only a five-step director finish test.
All twenty automated checks pass, including separate rendered reviews of both repaired attacks; gaming-PC delivery remains pending before the focused director retest.
Vesper's Honest Shadow passes automation
The packaged Vesper graybox uses harmless doubles, a marked real body, recovery-only Exposure and a two-success vulnerability loop. All nineteen checks, rendered review, performance, known-good sealing and hash-verified gaming-PC delivery pass. Day 33 remains locked pending the Creative Director's readability, beatability and interest judgment.
Vesper locked as Boss #3
The Creative Director selected Vesper, the Borrowed Face. Its honest-shadow mechanic asks the player to identify the real body among harmless doubles while all damaging geometry remains independently readable. Vesper's original gothic, vampiric and overtly evil presentation direction is locked, and Day 32 is active for the smallest complete signature-mechanic graybox.
Three Horror/Experimental concepts pass
Vesper tests identity verification through one honest shadow, Morrow tests reversible persistent arena partitions, and Aneira tests composure around one trustworthy commitment beat. All three pass deterministic generation, safety, integration, asset-burden and one-day graybox-test checks. Day 31 now waits for the Creative Director to select A, B or C.
Month-one audit activates the next 30 gates
All 29 predecessor gates, three representative rollback packages and the frozen Boss #2 evidence passed a reproducible audit. The next 30 gates and their model routes are validated, and Day 31 is aligned to exactly three Horror/Experimental candidates for Creative Director selection.
Boss #2 accepted and Boss #3 brief prepared
Soryn's accepted source, specification and build are frozen. The reusable Boss Integration Contract passes independently for Ilyra and Soryn, while Soryn's lens-routing mechanic remains encounter-specific. All nineteen checks, known-good sealing and hash-verified playtest delivery pass. The Horror/Experimental preparation brief is ready, unlocking the Month-One Audit.
Boss #2 frozen and reusable boundary proven
Soryn's accepted source, Boss Spec and known-good build are frozen by verified records. Shared integration conformance now passes for both Ilyra and Soryn, the reusable-versus-bespoke boundary is recorded, and the Horror/Experimental Boss #3 brief is prepared without choosing a concept early. All nineteen packaged checks, rendered review and known-good sealing pass; final delivery verification remains pending.
Soryn presentation accepted
The Creative Director accepted Soryn's title, original celestial sting, illuminated core and lenses, solved-return burst, phase-two escalation and bounded difficulty behavior in the physical playtest. All eighteen automated checks, performance, sealing and verified playtest delivery pass, unlocking Day 29 acceptance and Boss #3 preparation.
Soryn escalation and presentation pass automation
Soryn now has an encounter-specific title and original celestial sting, illuminated core and lenses, a solved-return burst, stronger phase-two camera and lighting escalation, and bounded difficulty hooks. Eighteen automated checks, the Low performance gate, rendered review and known-good sealing pass; physical presentation acceptance remains pending.
Soryn graybox accepted
The Creative Director accepted the corrected Soryn lens-routing graybox after the physical mechanic and readability playtest. Candidate 27 passes all seventeen packaged checks, rendered presentation review, known-good sealing and authenticated gaming-PC deployment, unlocking Day 28 escalation and presentation.
Soryn lens-routing graybox passes automation
The packaged Soryn graybox now passes seventeen checks: all prior regressions plus discrete lens rotation, one-lens and two-lens solutions, exact preview, immutable committed route, core-return vulnerability, safe-route and reset proof. The known-good build is ready for the Creative Director's physical mechanic and readability judgment.
Soryn selected as Boss #2
The Creative Director selected Soryn of the Broken Orrery. Its deterministic approved specification locks a two-phase lens-routing encounter with a previewed beam, immutable committed route, core-return stagger, safe-route proof and full reset contract. The other two concepts remain preserved as drafts, and Day 27 is unlocked for the isolated Unreal Engine 5 graybox.
Three Boss #2 concepts pass specification checks
Three mechanically distinct Puzzle/Spectacle concepts now pass deterministic Boss Spec generation, arena-realization, fairness and reusable integration checks. The Day 26 gate remains active for the Creative Director to select one concept before the Day 27 graybox begins.
Bounded authored adaptation arena passes
Five synthetic profiles now prove neutral behavior plus four explainable authored responses for dodge, shield, aggression and range tendencies. One response may add at most 12 selection points to one legal attack category; damage, timing, phases and live input remain outside adaptation control. All sixteen packaged checks passed, unlocking the Day 26 Boss #2 Puzzle/Spectacle specification.
Bounded local player memory passes
PlayerCombatProfile v1 now stores four local bounded traits with confidence, attempt-based recency decay, persistence, reset, freeze, disable and explainable output. It accepts completed past-attempt aggregates only, exposes no live or future input, and all fifteen packaged checks passed, unlocking the Day 25 adaptation test arena.
Boss #1 accepted and reusable integration passes
Ilyra now implements the permanent optional Boss Integration Contract while remaining a complete standalone encounter. An external mock received initialization, start, completion, failure, reset, reward, presentation and world-state outputs without changing combat logic. All fourteen packaged checks passed, unlocking Day 24 bounded player memory.
Vesper's Honest Shadow passes automation
The packaged Vesper graybox uses harmless doubles, a marked real body, recovery-only Exposure and a two-success vulnerability loop. All nineteen checks, rendered review, performance and known-good sealing pass. The build is queued for the gaming PC; Day 33 remains locked pending the Creative Director's readability, beatability and interest judgment.
Soryn clean diagnostic overlay passes
The final diagnostic cleanup removes the F4 background box while keeping all seven shadowed rows inside the DPI-safe viewport. F3 player status now uses a separate cyan row instead of covering Soryn's instructions. The combined F3/F4 rendered review, all seventeen packaged checks and authenticated gaming-PC deployment pass.
Soryn DPI-safe director panel passes
Physical testing found the bottom rows of the repaired F4 panel clipped by the gaming PC's display scaling. The latest known-good build anchors all seven director rows in a fixed safe area below the encounter HUD. The packaged screenshot proves every row and the controller-help line remain visible; all seventeen checks and authenticated deployment pass.
Soryn HUD and director display repair passes
The latest physical test confirmed the encounter works but found F4 diagnostics stacked over Soryn's instructions. The corrected known-good build moves director controls, boss state, player state and selection reasoning into one dedicated seven-row panel. An F4-enabled rendered review, all seventeen packaged checks and authenticated gaming-PC deployment now pass.
Soryn combat readability repair passes
Physical testing exposed unclear attack objects, an ambiguous core state, visual clutter and overlapping messages. The latest known-good build adds a green armored core that disappears while open, labeled smaller attacks, a translucent red hazard circle, separated reset notices and popup-resistant offline launch settings while preserving all seventeen automated checks.
Soryn lens readability repair passes
Physical testing exposed an overlong practical vulnerability state, unclear attack language, obstructive markers, hidden phase/reset shortcuts, unreliable lens-color identification and overlapping status text. The corrected known-good build gates damage behind a solved core return, labels blue and purple lenses with matching ground markers, separates the HUD rows, restores direct shortcuts and passes all seventeen packaged checks.
Soryn readability and vulnerability repair passes
The first physical test exposed an overlong practical vulnerability state, unclear telegraph language, obstructive debug markers and phase/reset shortcuts hidden behind the optional debug overlay. The corrected known-good build gates damage behind a solved core return, consumes each solution, adds plain-language attack warnings, clears the obstructive markers, restores direct shortcuts and passes all seventeen packaged checks.
Private tuning telemetry passes
The accepted combat and controller feel remains intact while a readable temporary biped mouse replaces the player cylinder. Private local telemetry now measures attempts, damage, phases, attack use, vulnerability, resets and frame-time spikes without identity or device data. All thirteen packaged checks passed, unlocking Day 23 acceptance and framework extraction.
Owner retest passes Day 21
The owner accepted boss visibility, combat controls, stability, persistent target lock and standard right-stick camera direction on the physical playtest PC. Candidate 6 also passes all twelve packaged checks, the rendered gameplay gate and authenticated deployment verification. Day 22 tuning and private local telemetry is unlocked.
Ilyra presentation pass goes live
Ilyra's encounter now uses a representative animated PBR creature, modeled arena, original attack audio, cinematic title treatment and distinct phase-two camera and lighting escalation. Telegraph readability and all prior combat contracts remain validated; Day 22 tuning and private local telemetry is unlocked.
Ilyra’s Attack Director passes
Ilyra now selects attacks through readable spacing, cooldown, recent-history and authored followup rules, with only a small bounded influence from observed past actions. Every choice is explainable, no future input is read, all eleven packaged checks passed, and Day 21 production presentation is unlocked.
Lock persistence and camera direction corrected
The owner confirmed boss visibility, combat controls and stability, then identified intermittent lock loss and inverted vertical camera motion. The latest replacement keeps lock through movement and stick drift, uses standard up-is-up right-stick pitch, extends the packaged controller assertions, passes all twelve automated checks and is hash-verified on the playtest PC. Day 21 remains open pending the focused physical retest.
Boss visibility and controller path corrected
The first owner playtest exposed an oversized representative creature, missing right-stick response and an unexpected exit. The replacement build normalizes the temporary boss to readable world scale, adds a second controller-input path with frame-rate-independent camera movement, captures a real gameplay frame before sealing and preserves crash diagnostics. Day 21 remains open pending the physical retest.
Boss visibility and controller path corrected
The first owner playtest exposed an oversized representative creature, missing right-stick response and an unexpected exit. The replacement build normalizes the temporary boss to readable world scale, adds a second controller-input path with frame-rate-independent camera movement, captures a real gameplay frame before sealing and preserves crash diagnostics for the next test.
Ilyra graybox proves The Red Refrain
Ilyra now has a packaged playable UE5 graybox. Each committed attack leaves recorded geometry that repeats once after a fixed delay; phase caps, escape routes and cleanup are automated. Ten packaged checks passed, the sealed build reached the authenticated playtest PC, and Day 20 Attack Director work is unlocked.
Ilyra locked as Boss #1
The director selected Ilyra, The Red Refrain. Her approved Duel/Mastery contract centers on clearly visible attacks that repeat their exact geometry once after a fixed delay. The other concepts remain preserved as drafts, the deterministic lock gate passed, and Day 19 graybox work is unlocked.
Boss #1 concepts ready for director
Three distinct Duel/Mastery concepts now have complete validated Boss Specs, readable review packages and UE5 runtime projections. Generation is deterministic, all future-input safeguards pass, and Day 19 remains locked until the director selects one concept.
Boss Spec format and generator v1 pass
A compact director pitch now generates a deterministic, validated full Boss Spec, readable director review and UE5-aligned runtime projection. Nine generator tests passed, illegal future-input adaptation is blocked, and the neutral fixture does not select Boss #1. Day 18 concept lock is unlocked.
Automated validation suite v1 passes
The UE5 production package now has one unattended gate for complete launch, framework state, attacks, phases, death and reset, presentation, director tooling and representative Low performance. All nine checks passed, the sealed known-good build reached the authenticated playtest destination, and Day 17 Boss Spec work is unlocked.
Production boss framework v1 passes
UE5 now has a reusable boss definition and runtime framework for attacks, phases, health, stagger, vulnerability, arena state and presentation. Seven packaged validation paths passed, controller camera tuning is configurable, clean scalability checks passed, and the sealed known-good build reached the authenticated playtest destination. Day 16 automated validation work is unlocked.
Unreal Engine 5 locked for production
Both engine candidates passed the matched physical-controller test. The director selected UE5 because it felt better overall. Shipwright looked better from inherited finished assets but felt worse; UE5 right-stick sensitivity remains a recorded tuning item. Day 15 Production Boss Framework v1 is unlocked.
Authenticated playtest delivery verified
The authenticated worker-to-gaming-PC pipeline now transfers only sealed known-good packages through password-protected sharing. The complete two-engine Day 13 comparison kit is ready: all 53 UE5 files and 20,355 Shipwright files matched their manifests, while the owner-supplied private test input remained separate from source control and public downloads.
Engine recommendation ready for director
UE5 is recommended for its demonstrated animated-asset workflow and current code iteration. Shipwright is runner-up with familiar native controls and a smaller runtime footprint. Combat feel, actual high-end hardware testing and production graphics remain explicit uncertainties. The director has not selected an engine.
Side-by-side engine benchmark passes
The same contained boss and director-control contract passed three fresh packaged runs in Zelda-native and UE5. Build iteration, startup, reset and phase jump, memory, package size, asset workflow, debugging, automation, stability and performance evidence are now recorded. No engine has been selected; Day 13 decision analysis is unlocked.
Packaged scalability gate passes
The GTX 1660 SUPER worker ran the 1080p Low profile at 342.463 average FPS and 3.657 ms p95. The same packaged scene demonstrated a visibly different Cinematic 150% ceiling at 142.762 average FPS and 8.273 ms p95. Day 12 side-by-side benchmarking is unlocked.
Representative asset pipeline passes
A provenance-locked creature mesh, rig, PBR material and three animations passed unattended engine import. A bounded original arena, texture, VFX and audio set also passed the native conversion and ingestion checks. Day 11 scalability is unlocked.
Director tooling passes in both paths
Both packaged prototypes now provide direct restart, phase and attack control, invulnerability, health and stagger tuning, AI and time controls, combat-volume visualization, live state timers and arena reset. Day 10 representative asset-pipeline work is unlocked.
Authenticated playtest delivery verified
The worker-to-gaming-PC pipeline now transfers only sealed known-good packages through password-protected sharing. The first package arrived successfully and all 53 manifest-listed files matched their SHA-256 hashes. Future sealed builds queue once and retry safely without storing passwords in project files.
Original encounter presentation passes in both paths
Both packaged prototypes now run a reusable title and epithet reveal with independently tunable visual and audio timing, an original procedural sting, clean presentation-state restoration and uninterrupted gameplay. Day 9 director tooling is unlocked.
Phase and arena reconstruction passes in both paths
Both prototypes now enter phase 2 once, accelerate attack cadence, contract the arena into a damaging safe-region challenge, reset deterministically and reconstruct phase 2 through direct jump. Day 8 presentation work is unlocked.
Three-attack comparison loop passes in both paths
Melee, projectile and area-hazard attacks now complete explicit telegraph, active, recovery and cooldown states with tunable timing, damage and automated selector checks. Day 7 phases and arena interaction are unlocked.
Equivalent dummy bosses pass in both engine paths
UE5 and Zelda-native prototypes now share tested health, targeting, damage, two phases, three attack placeholders, death and reset. Day 6 attacks and telegraphs are unlocked; no engine has been selected.
Zelda-native candidate becomes reproducible
The selected native comparison path passed a pinned public build, public-only package verification and an authorized isolated local run.
UE5 player combat foundation passes
The packaged graybox verified movement, camera, lock-on, sword, shield, dodge, damage and state regression behavior.
UE5 technical foundation passes
A clean isolated C++ project now builds, tests, packages, launches and seals reproducibly.
Bootstrap and safety boundaries pass
The canonical workspace, private repository boundary, prerequisite audit, idempotent bootstrap and blocking pre-push safety audit were verified.
Project pivots from OOT2 to BOSSMAN
The active project is now a focused boss-first action game and reusable encounter laboratory.
